Developmental Baby Massage

I have recently completed a developmental baby massage course with Peter Walker (www.thebabieswebsite.com) and can offer one-to-one baby massage sessions for parents and babies in their own homes.

Baby massage has many benefits including

  • Reduces stress and promotes contentment in both parent and baby
  • Strengthens the relationship between parent and baby and promotes bonding.
  • Builds parents confidence in handling their baby
  • Promotes feelings of well being for both parent and baby
  • Promotes growth and development
  • Maintains joint flexibility and promotes muscle tone
  • Assists digestion (useful for reducing colic)
  • Improves circulation
  • Boosts immunity

I am able to offer sessions at weekends for parents who work and are unable to attend classes held by other massage instructors during the week. I am particularly keen to work with fathers and parents with special needs babies.

The Holding Reassurance Programme is suitable for babies aged 3-8 weeks. Developmental Baby Massage sessions are suitable from 8-10 weeks (after baby has had his 6-8 week check with the GP) until baby is able to crawl/move away independently across the floor.
